Deceit. Suspense. Betrayal. Put in a rock band with all that and you have perfect example of a madcap thrilling story. Something involving all those three ingredients happened in real time this Wednesday, 13th April (*insert end credits sound made by balaji telefilms serials* - no, don’t act like you never heard that)
Wednesday - 00:56
Breaking up on facebook is the newest "cool thing to do before you die". Junkyard Groove fans were in for the biggest shock of their lives when they logged onto Facebook, late that fateful night. At exactly 00:56, a message was posted on the JYG fan page. Take a look at what it said below -

A lot of people went through WTF moments upon reading that post. Probably the biggest WTF moment happened for front-man Ameeth Thomas. Apparently, he had no idea the other three band mates wanted out. How do we know that?
1. His twitter timeline.

2. We spoke to him.
“I guess I did not see it coming. I found out the same way you guys did on FB and twitter when I was taking a break from recording at 3 am. People are calling it the new vogue breaking - up on FB. LOL. “
Ah. LOL. 24 hours after the whole drama (he told us all this last night - 14th April) and he’s already laughing. Our turn for a WTF.
But, seriously. There has to be more than meets the eye. No? He MUST have known something. At least seen it coming.
“Honestly I had no idea in the beginning but as time has passed by I guess i see it now . I wish the guys the best of luck with whatever they are planning to do in the future. For me its time to move on and start playing music not politics. If I wanted to play politics I would have run for elections this year. LOL.”
LOL. Again. So there goes our chance of being at the centre of an explosive controversial scoop.
The biggest question still remains. Following in GnR’s footsteps, Ameeth has quickly brought assembled a new (he would like to claim it’s not *that* new) line up for the band. Junkyard Groove still lives.
Okay okay. If you insist - Junkyard Groove is dead. Long live Junkyard Groove!
Thursday - 04:38
A new post on facebook announced the new line up for Junkyard Groove.

Ameeth still insists this line up ain’t exactly new. “Naveen has been playing with JYG for the past year filling in for Sid, Hudstin did play in the line up for six months when Jerry left the band the first time, the only new blood is ("Baby Groove" need to come up with a better name than that, lol ) Sajit, but he knows all our songs inside out which is pretty cool. Tonight (April 14th) I am making a 5 song Acoustic demo for the e.p and passing it on to the guys for their input and ideas :)”
So the band is ready. Although the name remains same, most of the players have changed. Obviously the sound of the band will change too. Or will it? “Time will tell. Will it be the same? To some point, maybe. ‘cause 2 members have played in the line up before. Will it be fun? For sure. We are doing this for the love, not the stress. Will it be better than the old line up? There is no better or worse only different. As long as we love the songs we are doing, nothing else really matters :)”
They plan to start jamming as a band sometime around the first week of May. Right now, he is planning on chilling. After he’s done with that EP he mentioned earlier. “A lot has happened in 48 hrs so need to step back chill out and take it as it comes at the same time keep moving at a good pace, keep smiling, keep making music and spreading the love :) “
So go do what that guy said. Cos thats all he seems ready to divulge at this moment. Some answers we got. Some he dodged slyly. Or probably thats all there is to it. Nonetheless, lets hope the music doesn’t suffer amidst all this. None of us would want to lose out on a talented tight pro Indian rock band now, would we?
