So. You have probably heard about the Hard Rock Battle Of the Bands that took place this year? No?

What basically happened was hundreds of bands, from all over the world, fought it out at various Hard Rock Cafes. A lot of eliminations happened and the list was narrowed down to around 40 bands. 4 of them will be sent to the Hard Rock Calling Festival in London. To get to play at Hyde Park alongside freaking Bon Jovi, Rod Stewart, Stevie Nicks and many more crazy people in front of thousands of mad, high-on-various-things fans. Basically killa exposure for your favourite bands. And YOU can help them out.

These four bands are going to be selected on the basis of online votes. Voting is currently on and will end on the 26th of April at 1029 IST. So get clicking.

From India, we have the current VH1 India Rules featured and Mumbai based hip-hop, reggae, funk, bass band who call themselves Bombay Bassment. Along with them is Bengaluru based Indian folk rock band Swarathma.

Bombay Bassment's drummer, Levin Mendes, tells us that fusing old school hip hop/rap with drum n bass, funk & reggae was a  "bold step for us". He goes on to add, "Fortunately, till now we have got excellent response for our style of music in India. Now let's see what the world has to say about us".

Bombay Bassment is currently on a roll. Their video, Hip Hop [Never Be The Same] recently premiered on VH1's India Rules. And now Hard Rock BOB. Their emcee, Bobkat, says this is a "massive deal" for them. 

Swarathma has been active from 2002 and till now have 2 albums under their name. Along with 5 international tours of of UK, HK, Morocco, Singapore and Australia.

Bombay Bassment has been in the 'scene' since 6 months now and are in no hurry to release an album. " We are currently working on our debut EP" says Bobkat and adds, "It's just 6 months for us and we want to focus on building strong repertoire of atleast 18 / 20 tracks before we decide to release an album. We are certainly going to keep dropping singles / EP in next couple of months".
